• Do you work on PCs? Generally speaking I prefer to work on Apple equipment but I can and do work on PCs if requested. It takes me a bit longer to work out problems and solutions with Windows computers since I don’t use them regularly. That doesn’t stop me from being able to fix them.

    • How much do you charge? I charge $60 per hour plus whatever parts and materials I might need. Sometimes I charge a flat fee for things I can do in my office like a system migration since I can set it up on my bench and let it run without constant supervision. In that case I’ll quote you a price ahead of time and let you know exactly what it is that I’m going to do for that rate.

What kinds of payments do you accept? I accept all the major credit cards via Square, cash, and check.

    • Are you available in the evening or on weekends? Yes I can make arrangements to meet you at those times. Generally speaking I try to leave my mornings open for personal matters but try to make myself available to meet people at hours which are convenient for them. To put it another way I’m generally available Mon-Sun 1 PM to 9 PM and at other times on request.

Do you work on printers? I can help you resolve printing issues but in general if there’s a mechanical problem with the printer typically it’s cheaper to just replace it. Most consumer printers are not fixable and are cheap enough to replace.

  • Do you work on networks? Yes, I have extensive experience with wired and wireless networks dating back to the mid-1980s.

  • Why does your company name say “Software”? When I started the company I had intended to do programming for people. I have a background in software development dating back to when I was a student at Carnegie-Mellon University in the late 1970s. I still plan to offer programming services and if you have a small programming project that you need help doing ask me.

Can you make my VCR stop blinking? Don’t get that question much these days but occasionally I do get an off-the-wall or non-computer question. Never hurts to ask-I might have an answer for you!
